On September 23, the exchange meeting on the development of teaching portfolio hosted by Center for Excellent Teaching and Learning was held in Classroom 403 of the Audio-visual Teaching Building. The meeting was attended by 10 representatives of front-line teachers from many schools of PKU, including the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science, School of Physics, School of Foreign Languages, School of Archaeology and Museology, School of Chinese as a Second Language, the Department of PE.

Sun Hua, Director of the Center for Excellent Teaching and Learning, introduced the purpose and significance of establishing teaching portfolio. According to Sun, the teaching portfolio is established to help teachers accumulate teaching resources, promote teaching exchanges, and better conduct teaching and academic study in an effort to continuously improve teachers’ teaching ability. Yu Qingqing of the Center for Excellent Teaching and Learning elaborated on the ideas behind the design of the teaching portfolio platform, as well as the resources and services it can provide to teachers. Chen Jiang of the School of Electronics Engineering and Computer Science talked about his understanding and perception of teaching portfolio from the perspective of a front-line teacher, and shared how to use teaching portfolio to improve the effect, efficiency, and quality of teaching.

The experts and teachers attending the meeting had extensive exchanges and discussions about the development approach, sharing mechanism and platform construction of the teaching portfolio. Everyone agreed on the positive role of teaching portfolio in improving teaching and expressed their hope that with the support of the teaching portfolio platform, teaching resources can be sorted out more effectively to facilitate more sharing and exchanges.

This meeting was of great significance to the construction of teaching portfolio. The Center for Excellent Teaching and Learning will take the advice of front-line teachers to continuously improve the teaching portfolio platform and promote the development of teaching portfolio.
